It's that time of year again, when finals abound and I do nothing but study until I can't stand to see the word "zooid" anymore and have momentary homicidal moments when people mention the coelomic systems of sea urchins. So you know what that means? Means it's time to do the latest Disney journal.
1. Favorite Disney movie?
I think it's honestly always gonna be The Little Mermaid. She wasn't my heroine growing up, she was better -- she was my friend. The girl I empathized with and the girl I felt akin to. Plus, there's the whole "marine biologist scuba diver" thing.
2. Favorite Disney song?
"Be Our Guest" Ahhhhh it's just so good!
3. Have I been to the Disney parks before?
Yes, but only one -- Disneyland, CA. THE ORIGINAL. YEAH. UH. WHAT NOW. (sorry)
4. Favorite prince?
Prince. Effing. Phillip. The man is a beast. Gets kidnapped and locked in a dungeon, breaks free, fights off nasty demon minions, escapes a crumbling freakish nightmare-castle, hacks his way through a bush with branches as thick as his waist and thorns AS LONG AS SWORDS, fights Disney's most insidiously evil villain IN THE FORM OF A GOD DAMNED DRAGON, then -- without even taking a BREAK -- climbs up what is probably something like 40 flights of stairs, kisses his lady, and still has time to look suave and dance like a BAMF. You know what that is? Stamina. And lots of it.
Eric gets honorable mention for having the best hair of any Disney man ever. He has the personality of a piece of paper and the IQ of a cardboard box, but that hair is always quaffed to silky perfection. You just wanna touch it, you know?
5. Favorite park ride to be on after-dark?
Depends. If Fantasmic is running, Splash Mountain. If the fireworks are running, The Matterhorn. And if nothing is happening, it's time to ride the storybook boat over and over and over again.
6. Mickey premium ice-cream bars or churros?
Churros. How is that even a question?
7. Favorite land in the parks?
I thought this was going to be easy but it's not. I mean, first off I wanted to say Adventureland because it's so awesome and cool and I feel like a badass. But then I'm like OooOOoOOoo New Orleans Square. So Pretty and old fashioned. And then I'm like OMG FANTASYLAND PRINCESSES AND TIARAS AND PETER PAN OH MY. So how 'bout I list my least favorite: Critter Country. I love you, Splash Mountain, but I am literally TERRIFIED of Winnie the Pooh and he is EEEEVERYWHEREEEE. It's all because of the damn heffalumps. Freaked me the hell out as a kid.
8. Favorite sidekick in a Disney film?
KRONK. MY ONE TRUE LOVE. LET ME SERENADE YOU.
9. If I could be in a live-action version of any Disney film, which one would it be and who would I play(regardless of things like appearance/singing ability)?
Oh my God I would totally be Charlotte from Princess and the Frog. Blonde, brassy, and bold. With a taste for rich men and a fondness for pink.
10. Favorite character to interact with in the parks?
I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO MEET PETER PAN AND NEVER HAVE. But that aside, either Mary and Bert 'cause they so cute, or the Alice and the Mad Hatter and the Mad Hatter's Adorably Inflated Ego
11. Do I collect Disney pins?
No, noooo...no. That's too expensive.
12. What park ride do I have a love/hate relationship with?
The Dumbo Ride. For reasons unknown, every time I pass this ride I turn into an insane beast who must ride it or turn everyone's day into a living hell of complaining and torment. I spend the entire 30-40 minute wait in pure ecstasy, and when they let my group in, I have been known to smack small children out of the way to get to the elephant I have pre-chosen. But as soon as the ride actually starts, it's like a 180 degree turn. Suddenly, everything is stupid and slow, and my elephant that had seemed to be the best among them turns out to be the weird, Forrest Gump elephant that all the others mock because it doesn't go as high. And I leave the ride disappointed. But I swear, if I don't ride it, it drives me MAD. I have no idea why this is. I am a relatively intelligent individual. i should understand exactly what is going to happen. But I do it anyways. Fucking Dumbo.
13. Favorite Disney love-song?
Once Upon a Dream. Cliched? Sure. But Aurora and Phillip are cute as hell.
14.Favorite non-animated Disney movie?
Mary Poppins. Primarily because Glynis Johns as a ditzy feminist is the definition of hilarious.
15. Do I own any Mickey ears? If so, what kind?
Long, long, ago in a galax--no, I will not make that reference, screw you Star Wars I'm a TREKKIE--long story short, when i was a kid, yes. Now I have a Mad Hatter hat and a Princess Ariel tiara.
16. A park ride I've never been on?
In Disneyland? None.
17. Favorite Phil Collins Disney song?(Legitimate question!)
No. Shut up. Phil Collins ruined Tarzan for me. Big tough awesome jungle man and his theme song is a whiny, Paul mcCartney wannabe track about not fitting in. No.
18. Favorite Disney movie sequel?
Not many. I DETEST Peter Pan 2 with the fiery hot intensity of a thousand suns, and I'm not super keen on Lion King 2. I don't hate Pocahontas 2, but I mock it relentlessly. I'd say the only sequel I like -- and actually have no reason to like -- is Little Mermaid 2. It sucks, and the walrus/penguin thing should be shot, but it's a girl who wants to live in the ocean. HOW CAN I NOT LOVE THAT???
19. Favorite Disney renaissance movie?
The Little Mermaid holds a dear, dear spot in my heart...but I have to go with Beauty and the Beast. It's just..I do't even know, i just adore it, and I DO associate it with the renaissance DESPITE it being number 2 on my list of top faves.
20. Favorite Disney/Pixar movie?
Not much of a pixar fan in general, but I admittedly ADORE both Finding Nemo and the Incredibles. The Incredibles was just SO well done and hilarious without being stupid, over-the-top, or loop-holey. Finding Nemo is by far the best animated depiction of the underwater world ever. I mean, they did their work. They seriously did their work. And for those of you who were wondering? yeah. That movie doesn't exaggerate for a beautiful effect. That's how it looks down there. Go learn to scuba.
21. Favorite in-park restaurant?
The little soup stand next to Pirates of the Caribbean. Seriously. Not technically a restaurant, but it makes THE best clam chowder on the planet.
22. Have I ever stayed in a Disney hotel?
NO. I WISH. Cinderella castle, man. I want that.
23. Favorite in-park snack?
CHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
24. Favorite Winnie the Pooh character?
WHY DON'T YOU JUST ASK ME MY FAVORITE BREED OF SPIDER? (I hate spiders.)
25. Favorite classic character(Mickey, Donald, Goofy, etc.,)?
Pluto. He always seemed like the most intelligent among them, and I felt it was unjust that Goofy was a dog and could talk and live in a house but Pluto was left chained up outside. LAME.

Attentiooooon
Has anyone ever been in (or known someone who's been in) a hurricane/typhoon/tornado/monsoon/any other sort of disastrous type of storm-like thing that you absolutely couldn't go out in?
Because I'd really like to talk to you sometime soon if at all possible.
GUESS WHO'S A JUDELAWFREAKING SCUBA DIVER?!
*ahem* me.
CORRECTION: Who's a very, very lazy and procrastinating Scuba Diver?
...yeah, still me.
I got Scuba certified! Yaaaaaaaa--I already told you all this. BUT I'm repeating it because as of tomorrow it's going to be temporarily CONSUMING MY LIFE. Seriously. I've got two dive weekends which technically only last from Friday to Sunday, but Thursday is a satelittle day usually consumed in packing, resting up (I get, like, no sleep on those dive trips man. It's horrendous on my sleep cycles), and driving through the immense heat of the San Fernando Valley to get to the awesome place I rent all my gear from. And then from Monday-Tuesday
THE MIGHTY COMEBACK (maybe)
Well, well, well. Would you look at what the cat dragged in?
Yes that's right, I'm back. OFFICIALLY back, not just "reading comments and liking pictures" back. I'm going to WRITE again *collective gasp from like three people*
Not sure how many people still follow me at this point. I would NOT be surprised if you all got up and stormed out. I'm absolutely ridiculous and deserve it for promising and promising and never delivering on, well, ANYTHING. But I've come to tell you that's going to *hopefully* change.
I took a hiatus for about four months. I got addicted to Doctor Who. I went to Mexico. I discovered the greatness that is Noel Coward
CURSE YOU BBC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Oh my! I'm going to write so much! I'm so inspired! Oh I have so much time on my hands to write so much for the lovely people with ridiculously high levels of patience! Oh I'll start on that right now!"
*type type type type ty--*
"OoOo. Mum sent me a 100$ to do anything I like with? This never happens! Well, what should I buy? OH I KNOW. BBC shows!"
Thus, the distractions began. TWO WEEKS NOW. TWO. BLOODY. WEEKS. And do you know what I've done in those two weeks? ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NOTHING.
I try my hardest not to curse but THIS calls for it. I have had SO MUCH TIME on my hands to be GOOD and WRITE and do you know what I've done instead?
